We have three options for the walks on Cup Day, all beginning at Wenhams Camp, in the Warby-Ovens National Park, at various times.
Places are limited to 10 participants on each walk, and members wishing to participate in a walk need to contact the leader of their chosen walk.
Participants for each walk will need to BYO lunch, water, thermos, sanitiser, etc along with their Cup Cake, Cup Day Hat and a chair.
The walks are along bush tracks, and/or gravel management vehicle tracks, and it is expected that there will be an excellent display of wildflowers; hopefully we have a walk to suit everyone who would like to attend.
- Option 1. Friends Track, Karen, 0409 215 286. An easy loop walk of approximately 5-6k, starting at midday at Wenhams Camp, along the Friends Track to Kwat Kwat Lookout, and then onto Mt Warby, before returning to Wenhams.
- Option 2. Hoysteds Track, Andy, 5721 7922. An easy loop walk of approximately 7k, starting at 11.30am at Wenhams Camp, heading west to Hoysteds Track for views over Taminick, and return to Wenhams.
- Option 3. Salisbury Falls, Jeanette, 0417 546 974. A medium loop walk of approximately 12k, starting at 11am at Wenhams Camp, walking along the Friends Track to Kwat Kwat Lookout, then onto the Alpine Views Track, and down to Salisbury Falls. Returning along the Salisbury Walk to Mt Warby, and then to Wenhams. A bit of a descent, and then ascent, involved in this walk.
There is plenty of parking at Wenhams, as well as some limited picnic table/seating, and plenty of room for social distancing.
We will have a whiteboard, a list of horses in the race, and a list of participants so that we can have a Cup Sweep, albeit at a distance.
