This morning, Sunday 7th June, seven of us, which included two visitors, completed our planned walk in Bruarong, just north of Myrtleford.
We started down at the edge of farmland, and walked on the bush-road into Stanley State Forest, up the hill. The fog was still hanging around, even though we had a late-ish start, so views that would otherwise have been visible were not.
We came across someone who was on his way to do some gold prospecting. We had a chat, and he told us a bit about what we could expect to find where we were going.
We continued up the hill, still foggy. A bit further on we came to what once had been the settlement of Hillsborough. We had a good look around, and were excited to come across a number of things of interest.
By now the only mist left was in the forest.
We enjoyed our lunch sitting on logs, or the ground, and after that we turned and headed back down the hill to where we had started.
By then it was only partly cloudy, and we could see some blue sky.
This was a walk of about 7km, with a 270m ascent and descent, and we were all pleased with the day.
