This was a medium graded loop walk of about 13km, walking along bush and walking tracks in the shade of
Australia’s favourite tree, the River Red Gum.
The walk included the Willows Trail, the Tommy McRae Track and Granthams Bend, alongside the mighty Murray River.
Our starting point was just near the Wahgunyah Football Oval, and the twelve of us were grateful for the shade on a 34C day.
Part of the walk went through the township of Wahgunyah, which was very interesting as we picked up some history of the township.
Along the track a tree that might have some significance to the original aboriginal people was also identified.
