A weekend at Typo Station, Rose River, with easy, medium and a hard walk (approx 15k).  Walks include an approx 10k walk to Mount Cobbler for some of the best alpine views in Victoria.  [AWTGS 2, 3 and 4]

Typo Station provides self catering bunkhouse accommodation in expansive park like grounds.  Accommodation cost is determined by the number attending. For example; 20 participants, approx $85 pp for the weekend, including a shared dinner on Saturday night.

We will walk 6 kms of the popular Sunrise Track in the Warbys, but also make a special visit to the abandoned Bush Corner Reserve of Miss Nason, off the old road to the quarry, where granite for the Wangaratta Cathedral was mined.    [AWTGS 3]

A week of walking, and a Volcanic Tour of western Victoria, and the southeast of South Australia, based at Port Fairy and Mount Gambier in caravan park accommodation.  Walks and more at Tower Hill, Warrnambool, Budj Bim – Mount Eccles NP, Penshurst Volcanic Discovery Centre, Mount Rousse and Mount Napier volcanic peaks, Byaduk Lava Caves, Mount Gambier’s four volcanic peaks, the Blue Lake, sink holes, Mount Schank, Engelbrecht Caves and Umpherston Sink Hole.   Accommodation needs to be booked ASAP to ensure participants stay at the same venue for each location.    [AWTGS 2 and 3]

A medium loop walk of approx 12km on bush tracks at the base of Mount Buffalo, along Eurobin Creek, up Wilhelmina Spur, and back down the lower section of the Big Walk.    [AWTGS 3]

From Pfeiffer Wines at Wahgunyah an easy loop walk of approx 10k following bush and walking tracks taking in the mighty Murray River, and Australia’s favourite tree, the River Red Gums.  Followed by a shared lunch and Pfeiffer wines under the shady trees in their welcoming garden, and of course listening to the Melbourne Cup Race.  BYO plate to share.    [AWTGS 2]

An easy to medium loop walk of approx 7k from the Spring Creek Picnic Area with the sawmill kiln ruins, to the ruins of the Tramway Braking Station, with a descent along Lightning Track returning to the picnic area or a medium loop walk of approx 14k which also includes the climb and a steep descent of Mount Samaria before returning to the picnic area.  Walking mostly on bush tracks, part on gravel roads in Mt Samaria State Park.  [AWTGS 3]

A loop walk of approx 13k, part on bush tracks and part management vehicle tracks in Mount Buffalo NP visiting Macs Point and Mount Dunn.  [AWTGS 3]

Saturday, 3rd December. Ashmeads Swamp.  Andy, 0439 209 749

An easy to medium ramble of about 12 kms. Walking mainly bush tracks from Greens Hill to Humphries Hill via Ashmead's Swamp.  Many art and historical features to be observed, plus plenty of birdlife will be on show.  After the walk, we will drive to the Mokoan Hub for coffee, and some food, before making an optional exploration of the short sculpture trail next to the Hub.  [AWTGS 2-3]

A medium loop walk of approx 14k on bush tracks among billabongs, creeks and the Ovens River flats at Killawarra.  There was an abundance of birdlife in this area the last time we completed this walk.  [AWTGS 3]
