Warby Ranges – election day special

On voting day (Victoria State Election), Karen led a very pleasant walk in the local bushland, fresh after long awaited rain. 14 eager walkers completed a circular walk in the Warbies, accompanied by a fresh breeze.

After recent precipitation, the everlastings were abundant, and to our delight many grass trees were flowering.

The group came across a few kangaroos, and there was ample evidence of animals digging, and droppings, along the way.

We also shared the track with several other bushwalkers, and a few mountain bike riders taking advantage of the mild conditions.

From Wenham’s Camp area, The Friends Loop was followed, with a detour to Kwat Kwat Lookout for morning tea.

Then we turned into Alpine Views Track, with some attractive rock shelves and gullie,s and not surprisingly more great views over Wangaratta and the plains.

Salisbury Track saw us climbing to Mt Warby en route back to the Wenham’s Camp, and our ever so welcome afternoon cuppa and biscuits
